About Our Jeeps

Safari Jeep parked at Snoopy Rock in Sedona

Arizona Safari Jeep Tours has gone the extra mile to make our Sedona tour Jeeps the best in the industry.

We start with special order Jeep Wranglers, and build them to handle the rugged Sedona terrain with ease and comfort.

Close up of suspension

The Jeep Wranglers get a custom suspension system with a Procomp 4.5 lift, coupled with 33 x 12.50 x 15 tires. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimiteds get a Rubicon Superflex 4.5 lift, matched to 35 x 12.50 x 15 tires. We have found that mud tread tires work the best on Sedona's rocky trails, as well as the (rare) muddy conditions. We also looked long and hard for the right heavy-duty steel wheels.

You see, big, sturdy wheels do three things: first, they make the Jeep more capable by putting more rubber on the ground so we can ease over obstacles without having to use momentum; second, they make the ride easier on you because of the "easing" effect of more rubber on the ground; finally, bigger tires spread out the weight of the Jeep, diffusing the ground pressure, plus, with the added capability, we don't spin tires and tear up the terrain; therefore, our Jeeps have the least amount of impact on the land of any other tour Jeeps in Sedona. (See our Tread Lightly page).

In addition to the top-of-the-line suspension and wheel set-up, we add an on-board adjustable airbag suspension assist in the rear end. This makes the Jeep ride easier on your rear end!

Then we put a custom high-top roll cage on the Jeep, for added safety and better visibility for the passengers. Anyone who has ever ridden in the back of a stock Jeep will appreciate the room for more visibility!

With the custom roll cage, comes custom seating. Our Jeep Wranglers are built with seven passenger capacity, and the Jeep Wrangler Unlimiteds can accommodate up to nine passengers with ease. Of course, there are seatbelts all around. (Note: Arizona law requires carseats for children 5 year of age and younger.)

Necessary back-country safety equipment

In addition to comfort, our Jeeps are outfitted with all of the necessary backcountry safety and recovery equipment: high lift jack, spare wheel, axe, shovel, first aid kit, large capacity water jug, blankets, rain ponchos, and more. But with our skilled and experienced guides, we rarely need to make use of those!

And no, our Jeeps are not pink. They are an eye-friendly khaki metallic.

Come ride with us-we love to show off Sedona!
