Karl
Jones
Karl Jones is from Dublin Ireland and has been living and working
as a tour guide in Sedona for 4 years. He is an accomplished singer
/ songwriter / guitarist with radio and television appearances in
both Ireland and the US to his credit.
Karl had a chance meeting with Thomas Banyacya, a Hopi Elder, in
1996 after an American concert at George Washington University in
Washington DC. Thomas was on a speaking tour of the East Coast,
teaching the public about Hopi spirituality and world view. Their
meeting led to an invitation to Arizona to visit the Hopi Reservation,
and Karl discovered Sedona along the way.
Enchanted by the experience and incredible beauty of the American
Southwest, Karl relocated to Sedona from Ireland in 2002, immersing
himself in the geology, history and wildlife of the Sedona area.
Attracted to the Safari Jeep Tour company because of it's special
connection to the Hopi and it's focus on wildlife, Karl divides
his time between his passion for giving Jeep tours, and promoting
his debut solo CD 1916, with regular performances in Phoenix,
Flagstaff, and Sedona.
