Tony O'Boyle began his career as a professional guide when he opened
his own 4X4 tour company in Mazatlan, Mexico in 1984. His tours
would go deep into the Sierra Madres. Like a trip back in time,
they would visit Indians who still lived in thatched huts, and women
still ground corn with rocks, while their menfolk wrenched silver
ore from the mountains with a pick and shovel.
Returning to Sedona in 1995, he has been guiding tours here
for the past eight years. Being a student of native cultures
and lifestyles, combined with his knowledge of the history and
fascinating geology of this area, enables him to give his guests
tours which are not only fun and exciting, but a learning experience
as well.
