THUNDER VALLEY RALLY

Attention all adventure seekers: you already know that Safari Jeep Tours offers the best in Sedona area adventure tours right? However, if you will be in the area the weekend of September 18th-20th and want even more adventure then you have to hit up the Thunder Valley Rally. This hip and happening event for motorcycle enthusiasts and the motorcycle curious will leave you ready to spend you next ten paychecks on one of Harley Davidson’s two wheeled dreams.

For three days you can experience non-stop motorcycle related thrills and fun. The Thunder Valley Rally is held in Old Town Cottonwood which is tucked between the Black Hills mountain range, Sedona and Jerome. That makes for some pretty awesome rides all through the Verde Valley. You can scale the Peak of Mingus Mountain which is 7,815 feet in all its glory. Then, if you dare descend down 89A with its more than 100 curves.

The Thunder Valley Rally poker run ride begins at 10:00 a.m. and will end in Old Town Cottonwood at 4:00p.m. and is available to anyone 18 and older with those 21 and over able to participate in the gaming activities. Ever thought of combining poker with riding a motorcycle? Me either but here is your chance.

Vintage clothes are all the rage and this year’s Miss Thunder Valley Rally contest is a reflection of those good old days. Go back in time for an old fashioned Pin Up Contest and see what it was like when “Pin-Up” gals were hip chicks. Miss or Mrs. (as they are an equal Pin Up Contest) Thunder Valley Rally will be given her title at 8:30 pm on Saturday, Sept. 19th. No worries about inappropriate attire, as this is a family friendly event.

Kick of Saturday, Sept. 19th with a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Knights of Columbus at the Thunder Valley Rally Headquarters in Historic Old Town Cottonwood at the Civic Center from 7 a.m. – 10 a.m. The cost is $7.00 and includes coffee, orange juice, sausage, and of course pancakes. Carb up and head out to all the excitement.

The Lucky Penny Bike Show is back this year and word on the street is that this year’s will be the best one ever! It will be held on Saturday September 19th Registration is from 10 a.m. to Noon and Bike Show and Voting will be from Noon – 4 p.m. Winners Announced at the Joe Hall Stage at 5:30 p.m.
There is $2,500.00 in CASH and PRIZES to be won so you don’t want to miss out! Tim McClellan from Ellen’s Design Challenge is going to be the Celebrity Judge. Ladies, if you have never seen a photo of him, let me tell you, it is worth it to come out just to get a glimpse of him in the flesh!

There is also going to be free concerts, vendors and of course food and drinks! So take your Safari Jeep Tour then head over to the Thunder Valley Rally. It will put the icing on the cake of your week!
